First Reconciliation

Children shall be prepared for and given the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation before the reception of the Eucharist. This usually happens in the second grade when the child is seven years old, but older children should also be prepared if they have not made their First Reconciliation

Age for preparation & reception of First Reconciliation: 2nd grade or older, with at least ONE year of immediate catechetical formation prior to the preparation for the sacrament

First Communion

At Mass, we remember and celebrate Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. Jesus gives Himself to us in Communion. Receiving Christ for the first time should have a lasting effect on the direction of your child’s life. The best preparation for first Communion Day that you can give your child is regular attendance at Mass.
